It’s not often I laugh right out loud in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, but today I did.
This week the SSO marketing department is taking photographs of, for want of a better phrase, the “concert experience”. This includes some discreet shooting during the course of the performance, and consequently there were signs in the foyer, a nicely worded flyer from the ushers and, in case anyone missed those, an announcement in the auditorium before the concert began.
It was a very nice announcement: succinctly explaining that there would be photography and what to do if you didn’t want your image used. This segued straight into the standard announcement, which regulars will know ends with these words:
“…and please refrain from taking photographs.”
Was I really the only person who found this highly amusing?
