Today at work I was unexpectedly upgraded to Office 2007. I was too busy to simply play with the software and learn to love its new features. But I also felt a burning need to turn it into an efficient tool instead of an unwanted distraction. So my productivity plummeted. And I'll lose a few more hours over the rest of the week as I get used to the new interface and try to instill such customisation as Microsoft sees fit to permit me. Which ain't much by the look of it. I won't rant yet – one day's exposure under pressure doesn't offer grounds for a fair assessment. But I'll be ranting soon, no fear.
